Cooking class and so much more

For those of you following my journey you will now that we are staying in Florence in an amazing Villa, you can view the videos of inside and outside the villa on this site under “videos”. It’s difficult to capture the essence of the place but the videos give a good idea.

We are planning our tours for September 2025 which include staying in this amazing villa and enjoying this cooking class. If you have seen the video you will see that it’s so much more than a cooking class.

It starts with a tour of the vegetable garden and the olive trees around 2.30pm. Costanza takes us around the grounds, she runs the cooking class and manages the accommodation of the villa. Costanza’s parents own the villa and she and her sister are the sixth generation and their children are the seventh in this dynasty. As Costanza takes us through the grounds and speaks about not only the history of the villa but also the environmental considerations to ensure the produce is optimum quality.

We then move into the main villa and the traditional kitchen. Costanza talks us through the menu and most importantly the ingredients. We contribute to the making of the meal along with Costanza’s helpers. We finish cooking around 8pm when dinner is then served in this amazing dining room.

We enjoy fruits of our labour which of course was amazing. At the end of the evening Costanza takes us on a tour of the main villa with an enormous amount of history. It’s a privilege to be able take part in this “cooking class” and by 11pm we were ready for bed.
